Arunachal's Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary

Located in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Eaglenest is Jewel of Indian birding within an area of 217 sq km. The altitude range of Eaglenest varies from 500 m to 3300 m. The range of elevation makes this place an extra ordinary place for birding. Eaglenest comprises a diverse habitat of great altitudinal range of semi-evergreen forest and tropical wet evergreen forest. In last few years, Eaglenest is rated as one of the best birding site in the world, with over 650 bird species in & surrounding forest of the sanctuary.

The birding in Eaglenest is not demanding. The unpaved road connects the whole sanctuary which makes it good excess to the entire altitudinal range. Eaglenest is a notified protected area with the surrounding population of Bugun and Sherdukpen tribe. For last one decade it has been a prime destination for bird watchers from all around the world. Eaglenest as a sanctuary got its main recognition after the discovery of new bird Bugun Liochicla in the year 2006.

Eaglenest is a Bio-Diversity hotspot. Other than great birding, the whole Eaglenest range is extremely rich for Mammals viz; Red Panda, Clouded Leopard, Asiatic Elephant, Tigers, Leopard variety of Squirrels, Wild Bison, Dhole, Arunachal Macaque, Capped Langur and different species of Wild Cats including Golden Cat, Marble Cat, Leopard Cat etc.

Eaglenest is also equally important for Butterflies/ Moths/ Frogs/ Reptile scientist and lovers.

Few Important birds of Eaglenest are; Bugun liocichla, Ward’s Trogon, Beautiful Nuthatch, Barwing, 7 species of Wren Babblers, 4 species of Shortwings, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Sikkim Wedge-billed Babbler, 3 species Trogopan’s, many species of Laughing Thrush, Great/ Lesser Rufous-headed Parrotbill.

Day 1 :-

Gwt to Tenga market.1400m, (Birding on the way, Tippi orchid sanctuary, sessa and night stay at Tenga Hotel .

Day 2 :-

Tenga to Bomphu1800m, ( Morning go to Eaglenest wls for birding, and after lunch on the way Eaglenest birding and reach evening at Bomphu camp . ( Toilets outside very well neat & Clean and food will be very good ). Lama camp & Forest Birding on the way .

Day 3rd :-

Bomphu camp.1800m, (Morning go to birding at arounding camp.after Breakfast going down senni areas full day birding and late evening reach Bomphu camp.

Day 4th :-

Bomphu camp.1800m, Full birding at down bamboo forest and eving back camp.

Day 5th :-

Bomphu to Dirang.1900m, Morning Birding at near camp and after breakfast towards Dirang full birding on the way Dirang , night stay at Dhirang hotel.

Day 6th :-

Dirang to Sela pass.4200m, Street going Sela pass full birding high altitude full birding and late evening back Dirang.

Day 7th :-

Dirang to mandala top.3000m, Full birding at mandala top.late evening back Dirang or Sergaun ( Homestay ).

Day 8th :-

Dirang to guwahati airport. Morning 2hr birding at mandala top and straight diver guwahati airport.

▪︎Rain and dust cover for camera gears.
▪︎Personal Toiletries, toilet rolls and wet wipes.
▪︎Basic first aid and personal medications.
▪︎Personal Water Bottle (Preferably Thermos bottle/flask).
▪︎Extra camera batteries, memory cards and Power Banks for emergency charging of camera batteries and phone.

3.  Remainder of the Tour fee before 15 days .

Cancellation Fees :-

1. 20% of the of the Tour fee on or before 45 days prior to trip.
2.  50% of the Tour fee on or before 15 days prior to trip .
3. 100% of the Tour fee on or Before 7 days prior to trip .
4.  All figures per person based on total amount of trip.
